With a press release in 81 provinces, the union called on the government and the Parliament regarding the bill that envisages an increase in the salaries of public servants.

Retirees stated that the increase envisaged as 25 percent in the press release was insufficient and asked for additional steps to be taken.

Expressing that retirement is a gain that lasted for years, "Retirees of Memur-Sen" President Ali Küçükkösen stated that the increase was not enough.

"A proportional increase of 17.55 percent and an increase of 8 thousand 77 TL for public officials; Retired public servants, on the other hand, were awarded only a 25 percent raise, independent of economic losses, far from market realities, and unaware of household expenses. It is incompatible with the principle of equity that the minimum wage for retired public servants, which was increased to 9,800 TL with the increase, remains below the current minimum wage," he said.

“RETIRED PUBLIC SERVANTS DO NOT WANT TO BE CRUSHED UNDER LOW SALARIES”

Stating that the numerical difference between the employee and the retired should be eliminated, Küçükkösen pointed out that the works continue even in case of retirement due to the system.

"A system is being imposed in which we do not know whether we would prefer to retire and have a livelihood or to work until compulsory retirement, which will negatively affect the public personnel system and personnel employment. Retired civil servants after these increases; They want to go back to work, they don't want to be crushed by low pensions," he added.

Emphasizing that retirees have to live with their livelihood, Küçükkösen underlined that retirees do not want to feel their livelihood.

"Our problem is by removing the understanding of its value that remains in the past; public servant retirees who have shaped history and increased the accumulation of our country; to be just and just. We do not want what is different, what is separate, or what is not our right. public personnel system; has continued to exist on a fair ground in unity with its employees and retirees. Increasing social unrest by including in the legislation what should not be with the new regulation is a method that disrupts the existing system," he said.

REPAIR MUST BE DONE TO IMPROVE THE WELLNESS OF PENSIONERS

With a low rate of increase; Küçükkösen stated that while energy is spent to create savings in the budget, the social cost should not be overlooked, and stated that they want the same increase to be valid for all public servant retirees.

"After the 17.55 percent increase rate is applied, an increase of 8 thousand 77 liras should be reflected on the monthly settlement rate, and the confusion and confusion in the middle should be eliminated. For these reasons, the continuation of the step taken towards the retirees at the Commission stage should also come at the General Assembly stage, the Bill that will cause anxiety and unrest by the retirees should be repaired, and repairs should be made to improve the welfare of the retirees," Küçükkösen said.
