Double standard practices against Saadet Party in the Turkish Grand National Assembly continue unabated. The Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which had previously acted slowly in not giving a workplace to Saadet Party deputies, did not give Saadet Party Group a front seat in the General Assembly in the new legislative period, which caused reactions.

Deputies from Saadet Party and Future (Gelecek) Party protested this situation because they were not given a seat in the front of the General Assembly, and began to sit on the commission rows.

Double standards towards Saadet Party continue in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

The fact that no seat was reserved for the Saadet Party in the Turkish Grand National Assembly during a period in which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, said that they would prepare the internal regulations of the Democratic Assembly, caused reactions.

Saadet Party Parliament Group sat on the commission benches next to the Presidential Council after they were not given a seat in the front of the General Assembly.

After the situation in question, when a solution could not be found in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Presidency, Saadet Party Grand National Assembly Group continued its work in the commission benches.

Opposition parties also supported Saadet Party procedural debate.

“WE DO NOT ASK FOR FAVOR FROM ANYONE”

Saadet Party Group Chairman and Muğla Deputy Selçuk Özdağ reacted to the decision by taking the floor at the General Assembly of the Parliament and invited the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, to take office.

"A group was formed on July 6, 2023. After this group was established, whatever rights the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the other party groups of the Presidency had had, these rights had to be given to Saadet Party group. We don't even need to demand this, this is the Turkish Grand National Assembly, our constitution is our internal regulations. In accordance with the internal regulations, the Presidency Council should have given us a place here. We want you to act in accordance with the working procedures. We have talked to the Speaker of the Parliament Kurtulmuş three times so far and they said they will resolve it by October 1. Our most fundamental right is that we do not ask for favors from anyone, this is not your father's property. This place belongs to the nation, we are the representatives of the nation," Özdağ said.
