Taş Han, which was built in 1699 by the Ottoman Grand Vizier Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha, within the borders of today's Amasya and dedicated for the reading and teaching of the Qur'an, witnessed a great disgrace. Three more concerts are planned to be held in the near future in Taş Han, where concerts with drinks are held.
While the scandal experienced in Taş Han, which was restored by the General Directorate of Foundations and started to be used as a "boutique hotel" in 2018, draws the reaction of the citizens, it is demanded that new disgraces do not occur. Its rooms are decorated with the letters “waw” symbolizing the ninety-nine names of Allah.
In the statement made by the Amasya Voluntary Organizations Union (GÖKBİR) to the Milli Gazete, it was stated that a disrespect to the works of foundations is in itself disrespect to God and rebellion.
DRINK IS SERVING AS REVOLTING TO GOD
GÖKBİR also reacted to the disgrace of the drunken concert in Taş Han in Amasya.
In the statement made to Milli Gazete it was noted that an entertainment organization with alcohol in a place dedicated to the reading of the Qur'an meant cruelty, while it was noted that a disrespect to the works of foundations is in itself disrespect and rebellion.
While it was stated by GÖKBİR that Taş Han is used outside of the purpose for which it was built today, "It is sad that in the rooms decorated with the letters 'waw' symbolizing the ninety-nine names of Allah, customers are served drinks and various musical organizations are organized as if they are rebelling against Allah. Moreover, these are disclosed on the hotel's website without hesitation, and it is stated that 'it will be pleased to serve its guests with its rooms with a minibar and alcoholic beverage options'." it was said.
"THE WHO ALLOWS SUCH A THING IS UNDER THE GREAT SIN"
Amasya Voluntary Organizations Union stated that those who turned Taş Han into a place with musical instruments, verbal and liquor, contrary to the purpose and conditions of its foundation, and those who allowed such a thing, are under a great guilt.
Noting that they want such practices that offend Islamic sensitivities to be ended as soon as possible, GÖKBİR called on the people of Amasya to protect their values and historical heritage.
In the statement made by GOKBIR, "We invite all institutions responsible for preserving and restoring foundation works, especially the General Directorate of Foundations and Amasya Governorate, and we respectfully announce to the public that we will follow this event," it was stated.
