In recent years, the increase in technological tools and the use of language by cultural imperialism devices in our country have become deplorable. While a language in which the grandfather and grandchild do not understand each other emerges, the way of speaking called the 'plaza language' is becoming more and more common. In the face of this language erosion, "Pure Turkish" remains only in the books, while the inability of the relevant institutions and organizations to take precautions against this erosion makes one give up.
TURKISH'S ROOTED HISTORY IS DISAPPEARING
While Turkish is the sixth most spoken language in the world, it is among the three largest languages in the world in terms of the area it spreads. However, our language, which is so wide and deep-rooted, is faced with a great erosion. This erosion, which started with the plazas where the speech form in which English words are preferred instead of its Turkish equivalent, started to affect almost everyone with the development of mass media today.
WORDS ARE SHORTENING, NO TRACE FROM TURKISH
The development of social media deepens the erosion in language. In today's world, where face-to-face chat is replaced by virtual chat, people play with the structures and meanings of words in order to message faster, thus disrupting the written language by shortening them. The generations that were born into such a communication network and grew up with it immediately embrace this language and there is no trace of Turkish in their daily conversations.
INSTITUTIONS ARE INSUFFICIENT
The efforts of the relevant institutions and organizations that are responsible for taking precautions against this erosion in our language and protecting our language are insufficient. Although the Turkish Language Association (TDK), whose main task is to protect and develop the Turkish language, publishes periodicals on the protection and correct use of Turkish, it does not affect the erosion that is growing day by day.
