While the occupying Zionist Israel continues its attacks in Gaza since October 7, reactions continue to grow like an avalanche in many parts of the world.
While protests continue all over the world, from the USA to the UK, from Russia to Malaysia, boycotts of Israeli and US products continue.
Reactions to the technological support provided to Israel by US-based companies Google and Amazon were also immediate.
PALESTINIANS WERE MONITORED WITH THE NIMBUS PROJECT AND INFORMATION WAS GIVEN TO ISRAEL
US-based Google and Amazon companies made a 1.2 billion dollar agreement with the Israeli army in 2018, and the Nimbus project prepared within this scope was used in the war in May 2021, when Israel attacked Gaza again and 250 Gazans were martyred.
The Nimbus project, which is a more advanced version of the Google Earth project operated by Google and allows viewing the world from space, instantly tracked the Palestinians and provided information to the Israeli army.
When the project was put into operation, 500 workers working in two companies protested.
LESSONS MUST LEARNED FROM THE EXPERIENCES OF PALESTINIANS
Drawing attention to the importance of technological sovereignty in the world, Rahmi Aktepe, Chairman of the Turkish Informatics Association (TBD), emphasized the necessity of standing out in information technologies.
"Türkiye should not be dependent on foreign countries, especially the USA, for software and applications. It is necessary to learn lessons from what Palestine is experiencing today. Pardus operating system is an important step in terms of localization in the IT world and is very open to development. Our priority should be to develop the Pardus operating system, which is our own search engine, and design it as a system that the world can use. We have sufficient infrastructure and human resources for this. We also have local data centers and cloud infrastructure providers," Aktepe said.
