The Ministry of Quds Affairs issued a written statement regarding Israel's decision to evict a Palestinian family from their 50-year-old house in occupied Jerusalem.

"The forced removal of the Sub Laban family from their home in Aqaba al-Khalidiya, located in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem (Bab al-Amud Neighborhood), constitutes a war crime involving all levels of occupation forces, including the judiciary and Jewish occupation groups," the statement said.

The statement emphasized that the couple Nura Gays Sub Laban (68) and Mustafa Sub Laban (72) have been living in this house since 1953.

"After 45 years of provocation, harassment and attacks, the decision to evacuate the house is no different from forced migration, which is prohibited by international law," the statement added.

The statement continued as follows:

"The dangerous displacement decision was taken in the context of attempts by the occupiers and settler groups to seize the largest number of Palestinian homes in the Old City, Silwan, especially around the Masjid al-Aqsa, for their well-known purposes. The forced migration decision aims to immigrate Palestinians within the scope of the apartheid regime implemented by the occupiers."

In the statement, which called on the international community to take "urgent and decisive steps", it was emphasized that "all mandatory evacuation orders, house demolitions, colonial activities of the occupiers, attempts to divide Masjid al-Aqsa and attacks on holy places should be stopped".

"It's time to turn the statements of condemnation into a political act that will force the invaders to stop their numerous crimes," the statement said.

THE SUB LABAN FAMILY FIGHT FOR 45 YEARS

The Sub Laban family, which has a house in the Old City of Jerusalem very close to the Masjid al-Aqsa, is one of the six families in East Jerusalem that Jewish invading militant organizations tried to forcefully evicted from their homes.

Although the Jerusalem family has been fighting legally against the attempts of the Israeli government and then the Jewish occupation organizations for 45 years, the Israeli authorities gave the family until June 11 to vacate the house.
