Palestine called on the Arab League to convene urgently to discuss Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip.
"We have submitted a statement to the Arab League requesting an extraordinary meeting at the level of foreign ministers as soon as possible," Ambassador Muhenned al-Akluk, Permanent Representative of Palestine to the Arab League, said in a statement to the official Palestinian agency WAFA.
"Aims to discuss ways of political action at the Arab and international level to stop Israeli aggression, hold the perpetrators accountable, and provide international protection for the Palestinian people," Akluk noted.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that Israel was responsible for the cut-off of vital supplies in Gaza, including water, electricity, and food supplies.
Abbas called on the international community to put pressure on Israel to fulfill its responsibilities and legal obligations towards the occupied population.
The Palestinian leader also called on the international community to provide urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza.
