During the meetings of the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Committee, the proposal prepared for the new pension increase was accepted.
According to the proposal, millions of retirees will receive a 25 percent increase in their salaries upon the addition of the welfare share on top of the inflation difference.
The fact that the amount of the increase will be made for the root pension, not 7,500 TL, which is determined as the base salary of the retirees, continues to bend the back of the retirees.
After the 25% increase in retirees, the eyes were turned to the millions who retired with the Retirement Age Victims (EYT) regulation.
Stating that the grievances of EYT members continue, EYT Federation Honorary President Gönül Boran Özüpak pointed out that the lowest pension system came into effect with the regulation made in 2008.
"With the lowest pension system created by our government in 2008, the base pension is now 7 thousand 500 TL. Without this law, around 15,000 pensions would have been received. The remaining part of the fee, which is 7 thousand 500 TL today, is covered by the Treasury, which creates a separate financial burden," he said.
MAJORITY WILL RECEIVE BASE SALARIES DESPITE THE INCREASE
Reminding the promises made for retirees before the election, Özüpak underlined that the 25 percent increase was insufficient.
"Retired SSK, Bağ-Kur and retired civil servants were promised. Despite the increase in pensions, the majority will continue to receive 7 thousand 500 TL, which is determined as the base. We will continue with the pension called "hiked" and the salary without raise," he added.
Expressing that the pensions have been further reduced with the regulations made, Özüpak underlined that the low root salary, especially in the case of EYT, causes new grievances.
"While the low pensions of retirees, which are determined by their premiums, cause grievances, the EYT members' low basic salaries increase their grievances even more. Retirees with a low root salary have never seen the hike. As an example, I saw what a person with EYT received as their basic salary, this figure was determined as 2 thousand 676.86 TL, and the additional payment amount was 288.46 TL. In total, the root salary of this person was 2 thousand 965, 32 TL. In order for the hike to reach 7 thousand 500 TL, it is necessary to get a raise several times. This is a great injustice," Özüpak said.
