The 8th of the International Education Conferences, traditionally organized every year by the Conscious Teachers Association (ÖĞ-DER), was held online. In the conference themed "Digital World-Media", foreign academicians touched on the benefits and harms of the internet and social media.

ÖĞ-DER Chairman Hamdi Sürücü said that there is information pollution in the field of internet and social media today. “Today, mothers do not educate their children themselves, children are educated by people we do not know with smartphones given to them. “SOCIAL MEDIA NEGATIVELY AFFECTS BRAIN DEVELOPMENT”
Professor at the Faculty of Islamic Civilization, Malaysian University of Technology Prof. Dr. Kamaruzaman Yusoff, in his speech at the conference, stated that the internet and social media have positive aspects such as being aware of the world, learning languages and developing literacy skills. Kamaruzaman listed the negative aspects of social media as follows: “The negative effects of social media, the brain development of young people are very negatively affected. Attention deficit occurs between the ages of 3-5. Obesity is a problem. Because they are still. Children learn about violence from the internet. Anxiety problems and socialization problems occur in children.”
