Soldiers involved in the failed July 2016 coup attempt “sold their uniforms, souls and the Turkish flag for a dollar,” Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said on July 12.

“They turned into one-dollar rags in the face of the most virtuous nation that the history has ever seen. They sold their uniforms, souls, faith and flag on their chests for a dollar. They sold the nation,” Yıldırım said at the pro-government SETA think tank’s “July 15 Symposium” in Istanbul.

He also vowed that the government would continue pursuing its fight against the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), heralding further steps against the organization.

“The whole world should know this: This struggle will continue until there is not a single FETÖ member left who has not paid the legal price of their betrayal,” he said.

“There is no doubt we have further steps to take regarding the fight against the FETÖ terror organization. The struggle will continue with determination. What I want from my nation is that do not lose your faith in this struggle and continue to support us,” Yıldırım added.
