The details of the law proposal, which healthcare professionals have been waiting for a long time, become clear. While violence and many basic topics are clear, uncertainty about the revolving fund issue continues. The law proposal on the personal rights of healthcare workers was submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). While the details of the said regulation are clarified, it is stated that a few more law proposals may come for new regulations.
REFERRED TO JUSTICE COMMISSION
After the proposal to amend the Turkish Penal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Health Services Fundamental Law in order to prevent violence in health care and to end injustices in malpractice cases recourse from health workers due to medical errors, the proposal is submitted to the TBMM and referred to the Justice Commission. With the proposal of the law, the crime of intentional injury committed against the personnel working in health institutions and organizations during their duties or due to their duties is also included in the catalog crimes and the enforcement agent made visible by judges and prosecutors.
IMPROVEMENT IS COMING TO RETIRED
The bill to improve the wages of healthcare workers is expected to be submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the near future. In addition, the regulation expected to be brought to the TBMM includes an increase in the additional payments to be received by the health personnel from the revolving fund, and ensuring that their salaries are paid with a single payroll by taking the fixed additional payments into the central government budget. While it is stated that an increase will be made in the basic wages of family physicians, it is stated that the improvement to be made in the wages of health workers can also be reflected to retirees.
