Those who lost their lives on the anniversary of the bloody raid carried out by the Zionist Israeli regime soldiers on the Mavi Marmara ship, which was carrying humanitarian aid materials to Palestine, and in which Turkish citizens were martyred, are commemorated with mercy.
Even though twelve years have passed since the massacre, the Mavi Marmara struggle is not erased from the minds. The Mavi Marmara case, which reveals the brutal face of the invading Israeli regime, continues to provide hope for all the oppressed.
In the process following the dismissal of the lawsuit against Israeli regime officials, the fate of the Mavi Marmara ship became sad. The Mavi Marmara ship, which set out in 2010 to deliver humanitarian aid to the oppressed in Gaza and became the symbol of the struggle against Zionism, was sold to a businessman and its name was changed.
THE CASE DROPPED SIX YEARS AGO
Twelve years have passed since the invading Israeli regime's attack on the Mavi Marmara ship in international waters, and six years ago, a decision was made that stunned all Muslims. Within the scope of the normalization agreement with Israel, the 7th High Criminal Court of Istanbul dropped the case of 4 murderers, including the then Israeli Chief of General Staff, Rau Aluf Gabiel Ashknazi.
FAHRİ YALDIZ
Yaldız organized a bazaar in Adıyaman to support the "Our Route is Palestine, Our Cargo is Humanitarian Aid" campaign organized by IHH and joined the fleet by collecting the donations of benevolent citizens. Before embarking on the journey, Fahri Yaldız met with his loved ones, close friends and relatives and asked them to be halal. The family photo he took with his family was his last photo. Fahri Yaldız, who was martyred in Israel's attack on the Mavi Marmara ship in the humanitarian aid fleet, left four sons behind.
CETIN TOPCUOGLU
He was born in Adana in 1956. Çetin Topçuoğlu, who started to work as a civil servant in Çukobirlik in 1979, retired in 1998. He played amateur football in Adana Demirspor for two years. Topçuoğlu, who started taekwondo in 1973, became world champion many times and received awards. He was named referee of the year in 1992 and 1998. He worked voluntarily in IHH and Adana Humanitarian Aid Association. Actively participating in humanitarian aid efforts, Topçuoğlu always stood by the victim and the oppressed. Çetin Topçuoğlu joined the “Our Route is Palestine, Our Cargo, Humanitarian Aid” fleet with his wife Mrs. Çiğdem. His last words as he said goodbye to his friends were:
"We became world champions in taekwondo, now it's time for the hereafter championship inshallah."
CENGIZ SONGÜR
Cengiz Songür noticed the letter in his pocket on the ship:
"I have hundreds of sentences to write you, but my words are getting knotted. I'm afraid, father. When I see the sadness in my siblings' eyes and the worry on my mother's face, I get scared. But even if it means losing you in the end, go dad... For an orphan's smile, for a mother's prayer, go dad... Even if only your name comes back..."
The 47-year-old father of seven children proudly presents his letter to the passengers on board. He was martyred with a letter in his pocket during the Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara ship on May 31, 2010.
ALI HAYDAR BENGI
Ali Haydar Bengi, one of the opinion leaders of Diyarbakir, who is loved by everyone for his good morals and life, has given importance to the correct understanding of religion, the establishment of unity among Muslims and the liberation of Jerusalem in his scientific studies and lectures in recent years.
Ali Haydar Bengi has four children named Mehanur, Semanur, Senanur and Muhammed Mustafa. Ali Haydar Bengi, who applied to join the flotilla prepared to bring aid to Gaza, which has been living under siege for more than three years, stated in the form here that he could help, as translation and communication. Bengi was martyred in the Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza on May 31, 2010.
CENGİZ AKYUZ
Akyüz, who has a wide circle of friends because he is with his friends in both good and bad times, was a member of the Iskenderun Humanitarian Aid Association and voluntarily participated in the work of many non-governmental organizations in Iskenderun. When Cengiz Akyüz set out on this journey, what he wanted most was to deliver the materials of the hospital to be built in Gaza to his brothers here.
His last words to his mistress before boarding the ship:
"Take care of children, give importance to reading and make sure them to pray!"
CEVDET KILIÇLAR
He was working in the press room of the Mavi Marmara ship in the fleet organized to lift the embargo in Gaza and to deliver humanitarian aid. He was martyred as a result of the fire opened on the Freedom Flotilla by the Israelis. In the contact form filled out by those who joined the fleet, he finally filled in the part about the fields you can help with, "I'll do anything". He set out to do anything for the sake of humanity. He was martyred while taking pictures in the pirate attack organized by Israel on the Mavi Marmara ship, which was carrying humanitarian aid, on Monday, May 31, 2010, at the time of the morning prayer.
UGUR SULEYMAN SÖYLEMEZ
He was born in 1963 in Ankara. A self-employed person, Söylemez was in the flotilla that brought humanitarian aid to Gaza in May 2010.
Uğur Süleyman Söylemez was named among those who lost their lives on the ship right after the Mavi Marmara attack, but it was later determined that he was among the injured and was seriously injured by a bullet he received from his head. Uğur Süleyman Söylemez, who was in a coma in Ankara for 4 years, joined the caravan of martyrs from his home in Ankara.
Soylemez, who was involved in humanitarian aid work for the needy with various social events he organized, was known as a person who kept his word, reliable and sensitive about humanitarian issues. Ms. Tugba, talking about her husband, said, "he always had a special interest in Palestine." she says.
NECDET YILDIRIM
He was born on August 15, 1978 in Istanbul. His neighbor speaks of Necdet Yıldırım, for two and a half years, as "always a smiling, calm, patient and very compassionate person". Necdet Yıldırım, who was described as compassionate, smiling and a monument of patience by his family, was also loved by his colleagues.
Yıldırım, who moved to Çorlu for his job, voluntarily joined the aid convoy to lift the Gaza embargo. On Monday, May 31, 2010, around 04:00 am, he went to the upper deck of the ship Mavi Marmara, which was carrying humanitarian aid, to help his friends in the attack by Israel. He was martyred with real bullets used by Israel to stop the humanitarian aid ship.
İBRAHİM BİLGEN
He joined the flotilla, which will take humanitarian aid to Gaza, from Siirt. In the communication form prepared for the volunteers participating in the fleet to fill out, “Are you participating in this organization as a representative of any institution or group?” He answered the question "individually".
İbrahim Bilgen, who was martyred in Israel's attack on a humanitarian aid ship in international waters. As a volunteer, he was only on the ship that would bring humanitarian aid to Gaza. Wherever there was an event for humanity, İbrahim Bilgen was there with his presence. İbrahim Bilgen filled in the part “why do you want to join the fleet in maximum 200 words” with two words, humanitarian aid.
FURKAN DOGAN
He was born on October 20, 1991 in New York. He was a senior student at Kayseri Private Hisarcıklıoğlu High School. He joined the aid fleet to Palestine from Kayseri. Furkan Doğan was shot dead by Israeli soldiers on the Mavi Marmara ship, which included civilians in the Humanitarian Aid fleet, at the age of 19.
Furkan, who heard the sound of gunfire during the attack of the Israeli soldiers on the Mavi Marmara ship, which brings aid to the suffering people living in Palestine, wrote the following on the paper in front of him:
"Last hours for the martyrdom. Is there anything more beautiful? If there is, it's just my mother. But I'm not sure about that either. The two are very difficult to compare. Martyrdom or my mother? The hall is empty. The seriousness that has not existed until now suddenly covered everyone…"
