Yemen’s Houthi militia group on Friday claimed to have fired a “ballistic missile” at an army position in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern Jizan region, according to Yemen’s Houthi-run SABA news agency.

SABA reported that a Houthi missile battery had targeted a Saudi military camp in Jizan with a Badr 1 ballistic missile.

The news agency did not provide any more details.

A Saudi-led military coalition based in Riyadh, for its part, has yet to comment on the Houthis’ assertion.

On Thursday, the Houthis claimed responsibility for a missile attack on an Aramco oil facility in Saudi Arabia’s southern Najran region.

The company, however, quickly denied the claim.

Since 2015, Saudi Arabia has led a military campaign to support Yemen’s internationally recognized government against the Shia Houthi group, which overran much of the country -- including capital Sanaa -- in 2014.
