US Ambassador to the United States John Bass did not accept Turkey's ambassador's allegations of aggression, expressing that the decision was made by the US government, not by the embassy, in the statement made regarding the visa ban which caused the violation between the two countries.

The US Embassy stated that the visa decision was taken by the US government, not by the embassy. Asked whether İncirlikte Base would be affected by the crisis, Bass answered that it should be asked to the Turkish authorities. The US Ambassador noted that the United States and Turkey cooperate on many issues, and noted that Gülen's request was not separated from other extradition requests. Bass also said that Turkey has not been able to carry out terrorist activities for 9.5 months, which is due to US-Turkey cooperation.
