The Saadet-Gelecek Party joint group meeting was held in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Saadet Party Group Deputy Chairman and Istanbul Deputy Bülent Kaya reminded that the Turkish Grand National Assembly has entered its 104th year and underlined that the Turkish Grand National Assembly is the headquarters of the struggle for independence.
"The Turkish Grand National Assembly is the common mind behind the epic struggle against imperialism. Because, in the first term of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, on the wall behind the rostrum and the speaker, the divine word, meaning 'They carry out their affairs through consultation', mentioned in the 38th verse of the Shura Sura in the Holy Quran, was hung as a plaque. This is the spirit we need to solve our country's problems today," Kaya said.
“ISRAEL DECLARED WAR ON CHILDREN IN GAZA TODAY”
Stating that Israel deliberately targets children, Kaya underlined that 200 days have passed since October 7 and that 15 thousand children have been murdered in this process.
"Can you imagine; 75 children a day! In other words, three children are murdered every hour in Gaza! These deaths, which are statistics for some, are an unforgettable pain for parents and conscience. Right now, how many more innocent children will die until we hold this meeting here and finish it? The UN is silent, the EU is silent, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is helpless; So what does UNICEF do? What do those whose purpose is to protect children do for the children murdered by Israel? A child is a child! He is a child in New York and in Kiev! The child is innocent! He is innocent in London as well as in Gaza! Regardless of geography, a child is a child and innocent. If it is about children and those who murdered those children; Race, religion, sect and ideology are not questioned! A child is a child, no matter who he is or where he is; Child murderers are also child murderers! It's that clear! The terrorist regime Israel has declared war on children in Gaza today! No dictator, regime or state has ever existed in the history of the world; He has never committed such a flagrant crime against humanity!" Kaya added.
NOW IS TIME TO TAKE CONCRETE STEPS
Calling on the parties in the Turkish Grand National Assembly to take action, Kaya stated that action should be taken for Gaza.
"The Turkish Grand National Assembly, which was the headquarters of an epic struggle against the oppressors a century ago, must take total action for Gaza today. The only Parliament on earth that presents its founding anniversary as a holiday to the children of the world should also take responsibility for the innocent children of Gaza today. Regardless of which political party they are from, I believe that all our MPs under this roof want to do something for the children of Gaza. Because I know that; Our heart fire is one, our pain is one, our sensitivity is one! Therefore, our Gazi Assembly must take action as soon as possible and make decisions that will once again set an example for the whole world. We cannot be content with just condemning, just with heartache, with just publishing declarations, with just making a few sentences from the rostrums. Now is the time to take concrete steps that will instill fear in the oppressor, bring hope to the oppressed, and make children smile," Kaya said.
“WE SUBMIT AN OFFER, IT IS BEING REJECTED BY AKP-MHP VOTES”
Stating that the Saadet-future group has made many offers so far, Kaya stated that their offers were rejected.
"We bring a proposal, it is rejected by the votes of the AK Party and MHP. We bring an offer for our retirees, it is rejected. We bring an offer for our minimum wage earners, it is rejected. We make a proposal for unfair practices in interviews, but it is rejected. Just last week, we said let's investigate the harm of trade with Israel to Gaza; It was rejected immediately. Then; We say, 'Come with offers that will benefit our people and our country, and we will support you'; They do not take such a step. It is not possible to solve our country's problems unless the decisions of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, not the decrees of the President, and the deputies and ministers, not the palace bureaucrats, are effective. Unless justice is ensured in the Parliament, it is not possible to establish justice throughout the country," Kaya stated.
"LET'S SIGN TOGETHER THE DECISIONS THAT WILL HELP OUR CITIZENS' PROBLEMS"
Calling on political parties, Kaya also pointed out that a total of 14 political parties are represented in the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
"I would like to make an appeal to everyone, especially the ruling party: Let's sign decisions together that will solve the problems of our citizens. Let's not waste time once again with sterile discussions, unnecessary conflicts, and artificial agendas. First of all, let's comply with the existing Constitution, and first of all, let's apply the existing laws with determination. Let's make the rule of law dominant. Let's pass decisions together that will put a smile on the faces of our retirees, minimum wage earners, workers, civil servants and farmers. Before we tighten the belts of the citizens a little more, let's tighten the belts of those in government a little more. Instead of doing the homework given by the IMF, let's think together under this roof to improve the economy," Kaya said.
