Mehmet Büyükekşi, President of the Turkish Football Federation, who hosted the journalists in Gaziantep, made statements about the projects of the federation.

Stating that they are working on a new system, Büyükekşi said, “There is something both as a facility and as a system, the system we are considering is this; we went to Giresun and Trabzon last week. We visited Trabzonspor's academy there with our chairman and members of the board of directors. Next week we will go to Izmir and visit Altınordu. Then we text for appointments, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, maybe Spain, Portugal or England. We will study the national teams of these places, we will go with the teacher and we will visit the two teams that have the best infrastructure. To give an example, like Bayern Munich in Germany, like Ajax in the Netherlands. We want to do a study in their federation where they will give us advice. Our goal is, after visiting them -both the teams in Turkey and teams abroad - to produce the best model suitable for Turkey.”

Mehmet Büyükekşi continued his explanations as follows:

“We will try to prepare the most suitable model for Turkey in terms of both the economy and the investments to be made and the system. My thoughts from day one were: Let's do the opposite instead of importing football players. On the contrary, let's import the teacher. But not for the coach to run the team. To train teachers for infrastructure. We are already giving a license for coaching together with UEFA. It's not, it already exists. When I was the club president, I saw that there was only one goalkeeper from our infrastructure, there is no other. When I investigate the reason, there are always teachers working for minimum wage. The minimum wage today is 5,500 Turkish Liras (TL). Cleaning workers get 5,500, and security guards get 5,500. How will the social life of this teacher be so that he can give something to that child,” he added.
