TAKE AN OFFER THAT VALUES OUR TERMS
Family, Labor and Social Services Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk announced the government proposal for employees to raise 3.5 per cent for 2020, 3 + 2.5 per cent for 2021.
Memur-Sen Confederation Chairman Ali Yalcin, underlined that the given rates are not acceptable. Yalcin, "the government's proposal, the fall in interest rates, the downward movement of the exchange rate, electricity, natural gas and some other basic products do not confirm the rise in prices and does not confirm the contrary," he said.
Yalçın, who emphasized that the promise of we do not oppress the civil servant in inflation should be protected by the government in the proposal band, said:
"While we are waiting for an offer that will raise the standard of public officials, reduce and end their troubles, the offer that we face is the standard promised is low and the scandal it produces is big. While we were expecting the first collective agreement of the Presidential Government System to be executed with a content calling for signature, we encountered a proposal calling for regulation and field. This proposal needs to be completed and enriched with additions."
Yalçın underlined that the rates given by the government are not acceptable. it is not in line with the economic goals announced by the government. These rates do not correspond to the inflation forecasts and expectations announced by the government. The government's proposal does not confirm and negate the fall in interest rates, the downward movement in the exchange rate, the rise in prices of electricity, natural gas and some other basic products. The political will must see that it offers to the collective bargaining table, not to prosper public officials but to meet with the cephal, and to correct the deficiencies and mistakes of the offer as soon as possible. The summary of the first proposal submitted by the employer to the collective bargaining table is, in our view, "there is too much halfs, but no provision," he added.
