The vaccination scandal in livestock has become one of the important agendas of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). After the public learned about the scandal from the headline news of the Milli Gazete, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry had to confess the scandal that was hidden from the public. Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the vaccination scandal to the agenda of the TBMM and submitted a parliamentary question to the Presidency of the TBMM, asking the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişci to answer.
LSD DISEASE INFLUENCES BOTH HEALTH OF ANIMAL AND HUMAN NEGATIVELY
Karaduman stated that approximately 6 million doses of LSD vaccine were administered to animals in 2022, and said, “It is stated that the vaccines made this year are infected with the BVD virus, that the vaccinated animals experience extreme diarrhea and respiratory problems, and that many animals either perish or have to be slaughtered. It is stated that LSD disease affects not only animal health but also human health negatively. Again, last month, it has been claimed that the animals of a breeder's sheep and goat farmer in Bala district of Ankara died as a result of smallpox vaccinations made by the Agricultural Forestry authorities.”

What are your researches and studies about the contagion?
How many of the 6 million vaccines are infected with the BVD virus?
In which provinces, how many animals were the vaccines infected with the BVD virus made?
What is the number of animals that perished as a result of vaccination and had to be slaughtered?
What happens to the meat of slaughtered animals?
Has this meat been put on the market?
What is the reason for the amendment made in the Regulation on Compensation in Animal Diseases immediately after the emergence of the vaccine scandal and the abolition of the 'laboratory analysis' requirement?
What kind of effects are expected from BVD disease on livestock in Turkey?
Will the current situation bring a new live animal and meat import to the agenda?
What are your works regarding the situation in Ankara Bala?
What are the findings and conclusions regarding the claim?”
BARUT: “LET THE INVESTIGATION BE STARTED”
Republican People’s Party (CHP) Adana Deputy, TBMM Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs Committee Member Ayhan Barut also brought the scandal to the Parliament. Asking the Minister of Agriculture Kirişci about the scandal in smallpox vaccinations that must be carried out under the supervision of the ministry, Barut said, "The claim that animals that fell ill due to the vaccination scandal perished and that the meat of animals slaughtered while being treated with antibiotics poses a great risk to human health should be clarified. We want a judicial and administrative investigation to be launched against those responsible for the scandal."
