Stating that Özel's statements are far from both the country's facts and scientific understanding, Mehmet Ali Güldemir, Chairman of 'Diyanet-Sen' said, "As supported by all scientific data, 0-6 years of age are the most important years for the personal and cognitive development of children. Today, in countries with the most developed education systems of the world, both in family and pre-school term, children aged 4-6 get values education, religious education, language education, etc. In this context, in the face of intense demands from our people, our Presidency of Religious Affairs (DİB) also provides education to our pre-school children aged 4-6 with a program that includes both the Qur'an and religious values and pre-school education of children, in accordance with the development of children."

“ÖZEL IGNORES EVEN CONSTITUTION”

Stating that children receive religious education with the permission of their parents and that this is included in the Constitution, Güldemir stated that Özel also disregarded the Constitution."

“A new generation who learns the Qur’an, has moral, religious and national values, is not wanted to grow up in this country. This mentality that remained in the dark halls of February 28 (Postmodern coup), resurrects whenever it finds an opportunity. We already know that you are far from the values and wishes of your people with your outdated habits, but if you had developed your modern and scientific side as you claim, then you would have seen that this education given to children is an appropriate and timely education,” Güldemir added.
