Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the problems of producers whose greenhouses were damaged by precipitation to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA). Karaduman, who gave a parliamentary question to the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli to answer, asked what kind of process was carried out after the snowfall that made the producers suffer.
“800 OF 1000 DECARES DAMAGED”
In the motion, Karaduman said, “After heavy snowfall, approximately 800 decares of greenhouse area located in Kadıoğlu Çiftliği Neighborhood of Kahramanmaraş Türkoğlu District became unusable. Images that clearly show the extent of the damage received wide coverage in the local press. Expressing that 800 decares of the 1000 decare greenhouse area prepared for planting a month later was completely damaged, the producers state that they suffered a loss of 80-100 millions Turkish Liras (TL), and that 1,500 people were harmed within this scope.
HOW MUCH IS THE GRANT TOTAL?
Karaduman asked the following questions for Pakdemirli to answer:
1. What is the number of registered greenhouse producers in Kahramanmaraş Türkoğlu district?
2. Have financial support been provided to our greenhouse producer in this region in the last year? If support is provided, how much is the total amount of grants paid to these producers in the last year?
3. Do you plan to abolish Value Added Tax (VAT) on basic input items such as diesel, electricity, water and fertilizer used by the producer whose greenhouses were damaged due to snowfall?
4. What kind of process do you manage to identify the damages caused by disasters such as snowfall, flood, storm, earthquake that make the producer suffer and to eliminate the damage?
