102 billion TL from budget to interest in 1 month!

Turkey's central government budget revenues were 549 billion 424 million liras in May, and its expenditures were 430 billion 518 million liras.

The budget had a surplus of 118.9 billion liras in May and a deficit of 263.6 billion liras in the January-May period.
 
In May, interest expenses increased by 473.4 percent compared to the previous year and became 102.7 billion liras, while 237.9 billion liras were spent on interest in the January-May period.
 
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced the budget implementation results for May.
 
Accordingly, in May, budget revenues increased by 72.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 549 billion 424 million liras, while budget expenditures increased by 147.7 percent to 430 billion 518 million liras.
 
In the January-May period, budget revenues increased by 48.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 1 trillion 612 billion 124 million liras.
 
Budget expenditures increased by 95.4 percent in the same period and reached 1 trillion 875 billion 715 million liras.
 
Thus, the central government budget gave a surplus of 118 billion 906 million liras in May, and a deficit of 263 billion 590 million liras in the January-May period.
 

THE AMOUNT PAID TO INTEREST INCREASED 473 PERCENT

 
In May, interest expenditures increased by 473.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and were recorded as 102 billion 714 million liras. In the January-May period, the amount paid to interest from the budget increased by 95.2 percent and became 237 billion 869 million liras.
