Turkish Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that 109 military judges have been purged from their duty over their links with the July 15 coup attempt.
The decision comes after a Military Judges Commission meeting chaired by Defense Minister Fikri Işık was held in Ankara.
“Their relations with the Turkish Armed Forces have been cut off,” the ministry said.
Former Chief of General Staff Legal Counsel Hayrettin Kaldırımcı, former Legal Advisor to the Air Force Air Judge Lt. Col. Bedrettin Özgür, one lieutenant colonel, one major and three captains were among the fired officers.
