İhsan Açık, 2. Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Turkish Religious Foundation (TDV), who coordinated the teams in Hatay, said that with the initiative of the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Turkish Religious Foundation, they were on the field in a short time with imams, muazzins, preachers, muftis and volunteers.

Stating that the muftis of all other provinces came to the disaster area first, Açık said that the search and rescue team of 120 people was transferred to the regions that felt the earthquake the most, such as Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman and Malatya.

Explaining that they carry aid with trucks to the provinces of the region for needs such as water, food and clothing, and that they create and operate warehouses in the disaster area, Açık said, "As the Turkish Religious Foundation, we have established large logistics centers in 7 regions. Here, with our Quran course teachers and imams, the aids arriving by trucks 24 hours a day, day and night were classified. Nearly 30 thousand imams and muazzins have served here so far. Almost half of our muftis in Turkey's districts came here, and changes are still being made in turns. The materials unloaded from these trucks are classified here and they are tried to be delivered to the villages by small vehicles."

15,000 COPIES OF HOLY-QUR'AN SENT TO THE REGION

Açık said that the people who were rescued from the wreckage wanted to read the Qur'an and pray, and that they were applied for in this regard.

Pointing out that they are also working on this issue, Açık said, "The man wants to read the Qur'an when he is under the rubble, but when he goes out, he does not have the Qur'an and the prayer book. Requests for the Qur'an and prayer books began to arrive. 15 thousand Qurans were sent to this region and it is still being sent. Later, when the tents started to be set up, our earthquake victims asked for coloring pages or children's books for their children. We started to look for solutions in order to alleviate the pain of the earthquake a little by making supplements in the form of children's books and youth books. Thanks to tent cities, our AFAD gave us some tents. We tried to turn them into Qur'an courses for 4-6 years old. Our aim; Let the children be rehabilitated here, talk to their friends, and share their pain with other siblings who experienced the earthquake."
