At least 16 PKK terrorists were killed in counter-terrorism operations in northern Iraq and southeastern Turkey on Wednesday.
According to the statement issued by the Turkish General Staff, warplanes carried out an airstrike in northern Iraq killing terrorists planning attack.
In another operation at the Cukurca district of southeastern Hakkari province, three PKK terrorists were killed after they were spotted by unmanned aerial vehicles, provincial governor’s office said.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
