Although only 5 percent of the invading population lives illegally in the West Bank, the amount of investment to be made here constitutes 25 percent of the budget.

The Israeli Zionist regime passed the 2023-2024 state budget by a majority vote after the overnight session.

The budget prepared by the coalition led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which far-right parties play a leading role, was announced as 484 billion shekels (approximately 132 billion dollars) for 2023 and 514 billion shekels (approximately 140 billion dollars) for 2024.

More than $1 billion has been earmarked for illegal Jewish occupation units in the occupied West Bank.

It was pointed out that most of this will be spent on new road construction and improvement of existing roads.

PLAN TO BE PERMANENT IN THE WEST BANK

According to the agreement reached between the racist Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and the Transport Minister Miri Regev, approximately 941 million dollars were allocated from the state budget for the construction of new roads in the West Bank and the development of existing roads in two years.

Although only 5 percent of the Israeli occupation population lives in the illegal Jewish occupation units in the West Bank, the amount to be spent on the roads to be built here constitutes 25 percent of the budget of the ministry of transport.

It was reported that the Ministry of Settlements and National Missions, under the auspices of the Racist Religious Zionism Party, has allocated an additional budget of approximately $20 million to monitor the alleged "illegal" (!) Palestinian construction in the West Bank, in addition to a budget share of $170 million.

The Netanyahu government also took a share of the basic budget and allocated it to occupation units in the West Bank. Israel's efforts to deepen its presence in the West Bank are clearly visible in the budget.
