According to the official figures of the state, the economic picture is grave. Unemployment broke out in the last year.

Unemployment rate increased by 4.1 points in February compared to the same month of the previous year and was 14.7 percent. the number of unemployed increased by 1 million 376 thousand people compared to the previous year and reached 4 million 730 thousand people. The youth unemployment rate rose by 7.1 points to 26.1 percent.
 
Turkey Statistical Institute (TÜİK), announced work force statistics for February 2019. Accordingly, Turkey in the 15 and over age group at the number of unemployed, compared to the same month last year to 1 million 376 thousand persons in February increased by 4 million 730 thousand people came. In the same period, the unemployment rate increased by 4.1 points to 14.7 percent.
 
SHARE OF AGRICULTURE AND INDUSTRY ARE DECREASED
 
In February, the youth unemployment rate of the 15-24 age group increased by 7.1 points to 26.1 percent. One out of every four young people is unemployed; the unemployment rate was 15 percent in the 15-64 age group with an increase of 4.1 points. 17.1 percent of those employed were in agriculture, 19.7 percent in industry, 5.4 percent in construction and 57.7 percent in services sector. Compared to the same period of the previous year in February, the share of the agricultural sector in employed persons decreased by 0.6 points, the share of the industrial sector in employment decreased by 0.3 points and the share of construction decreased by 1.6 points, while the share of the service sector increased by 2.4 points.
 
Unemployment rate did not change in February compared to the previous month. Non-agricultural unemployment rate was estimated as 16.9 percent with 4.4 percentage points increase. In the same month, the youth unemployment rate, which included 15-24 age group, increased by 7.1 points to 26.1 percent. Unemployment rate was 15 percent in the 15-64 age group with 4.1 points increase.
 
ONLY THE SHARE OF THE SERVICE SECTOR INCREASED
 
The number of employed persons declined by 811 thousand in February compared to the same period of the previous year and was recorded as 27 million 355 thousand persons and employment rate was recorded as 44.8 percent with 1.8 percentage points decrease.
 
In the said period, the number of employees in the agricultural sector decreased by 296 thousand, the number of employees in non-agricultural sectors decreased by 514 thousand. 17.1 percent of those employed were in agriculture, 19.7 percent in industry, 5.4 percent in construction and 57.7 percent in services sector.
 
Compared to the same period of the previous year in February, the share of the agricultural sector in employed persons decreased by 0.6 points, the share of the industrial sector in employment decreased by 0.3 points and the share of construction decreased by 1.6 points, while the share of the service sector increased by 2.4 points.
 
Labor force increased by 564 thousand persons in February, compared to the same period of 2018, to 32 million 84 thousand and labor force participation rate increased by 0.3 points to 52.5 percent. In February, the ratio of employees without any social security institutions increased by 1.3 points compared to the same period of the previous year and became 33.5 percent.
 
According to the data collected by the Presidency Strategy and Budget Directorate, total public employment in the first period of 2019 increased by 21.6 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and was determined as 4 million 517 thousand people. This increase was due to the fact that subcontractors, who had not previously been involved in public employment, were employed as public employees (permanent workers).
