At least one PKK terrorist was killed late Wednesday in a clash with security forces in eastern Turkey, a statement issued by the Ardahan Governor's Office said.
The incident took place when provincial gendarmerie command and security forces conducted joint anti-terror operations in Gole and Senkaya districts of Ardahan and Erzurum provinces respectively, the statement said.
It said a soldier was also hurt in the operations.
“Our forces continue operations with the support of our citizens,” the statement added.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015.
Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
