The army killed a PKK terrorist in southeastern Hakkari province on Wednesday, according to Turkish military.
In a statement, Turkish General Staff said security personnel had detected three PKK terrorists who were planning to attack a military base in Cukurca district.
One was killed while security forces remain in pursuit of the other two terrorists, it said.
Several mines were also destroyed by the forces.
A total of 156 PKK terrorists have been killed since operations began in Hakkari at the start of 2017, the statement added.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015.
Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
