Israel seeks to impose arbitrary and unjust measures, including displacement, destruction and eviction, in Jerusalem.
Zead Al-Hamouri, head of the Jerusalem Center for Social and Economic Rights, "House demolitions and eviction policies in Jerusalem have become increasingly violent and intense in recent years, especially after the new occupation government took the reins of power to reduce and displace Jerusalemites in the city," he said.
"The house demolition procedure in Jerusalem has existed since 1948, when successive occupation governments demolished entire villages, and today the pace is accelerating on legal pretexts. In Jerusalem, 3 houses are destroyed almost every week, and sometimes dozens of facilities are demolished, reaching 80 facilities in one day, as in Wadi abu al-Homs," Al-Hamouri added.
Al-Hamouri continued his speech as follows:
"The danger is that there are approximately 23,000 demolition orders under court orders in Jerusalem, which could be executed at any time. There have been about 140 facilities destroyed in Jerusalem since the beginning of the year, in addition to 19 ongoing evacuations of Jerusalemite homes."
