Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that 21 billion 629 million 252 thousand 399 minutes of phone calls were made and 736 million 844 thousand 664 text messages were sent during the 9-day holiday period, which includes the Eid al-Adha.
In his written statement, Minister Uraloğlu stated that 21 billion 629 million 252 thousand 399 minutes of calls were made by mobile phone via 3 GSM operators serving in Turkey during the 9-day holiday period, which includes the Eid al-Adha.
He noted that 736 million 844 thousand 664 short message (SMS) interactions took place in the same period.
Expressing that the phones did not go silent during the said holiday period, Uraloğlu stated that they brought together the citizens who could not come together during the holiday, with the strong and uninterrupted service in the communication infrastructure.
Uraloğlu stated that the infrastructure works in communication are getting stronger day by day.
"Our services in the communication infrastructure are now shown as an example in the world. We have strengthened the infrastructure works so that our nation can meet more easily. Technology has no limits anymore. We also have to adapt to it. We make our investments accordingly," he added.
