Turkish security forces killed two PKK terrorists in a southeastern province late Monday, Governor’s Office said in a statement.
According to the statement, gendarmes launched Monday evening a counter-terrorism operation after receiving information of PKK’s presence in the central district of the Sirnak province.
The terrorists were killed during the operation in Tahtakayaliklari area.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of around 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
