With the announced February inflation, civil servants and retirees became creditors more than twice the increase given. While February inflation announced by Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) was 4,81 percent, February inflation was announced as 5,44 percent according to Inflation Research Group (ENAG). According to the research carried out by the Confederation of Independent Public Employees' Unions (BASK), it was stated that there was a loss of more than twice in the face of inflation when calculating the 7,5 percent main increase in the salaries of civil servants and retirees.
CIVIL SERVANTS ARE CREDITED AGAINST INFLATION
According to the research conducted by BASK, when the 7,5 percent main increase in the salaries of civil servants and retirees is calculated, civil servants and retirees become 8,95 percent creditors against inflation figures, while the receivables of civil servants and retirees in February are between 609 Turkish Liras (TL) and 1,305 TL. BASK Chairman Bayram Zengin, noting that the increase in the 6th Term Collective Agreement has eroded since the first day, "According to presidential data, average pensions vary between 2,566 TL and 4,674 TL. The meaning of this is clear. Almost all of the retirees receive pensions below the hunger limit. Almost all civil servants receive pensions below the poverty line. Under these conditions and with these salaries, it is not possible for civil servants and retirees to lead a life worthy of human dignity and fulfill their family responsibilities,” he said.
LOWER 934 TL HIGHEST 1,739 TL LOST EXPERIENCED
Research by BASK, while a servant at 12 to 1 degree lost 934,42 TL against February inflation, a civil servant at 9 to 1 degree was 1,001.034 TL, a teacher at 7 to 1 degree was 1,135.062 TL, for a 12 to 3 degree nurse 1,098.065 TL, general practitioner at 8 to 3 levels, 1,637.065 TL, for an office technician at 11 to 1 degrees, 1,049.095 TL, for office technicians at 1 to 4 degrees, 1,363.002 TL, for an engineer at 1 to 4 degrees, 1,739.049 TL, and a branch manager at 1 to 4 degrees revealed that had a loss of 1,701.039 TL.
