A total of 41 terrorists were “neutralized” during an air operation on March 22 in northern Iraq, the Turkish army said on Tuesday.
The military generally uses the term "neutralize" to signify that the targets have been killed.
Turkish General Staff said in a statement that members of the PKK terrorist group, who were plotting an attack on Turkish forces, were neutralized in northern Iraq’s Qandil region.
Airstrikes on PKK targets in northern Iraq, where the terror group has its main base in the Mt. Qandil region near the Iranian border, have been carried out regularly since July 2015, when the PKK resumed its armed terror campaign.
