Sabri Tekir, Deputy Chairman of the Saadet Party, while making evaluations on the agenda at the press conference he held, reminded that September had important breaking points in the history of humanity in the last century. Tekir said, “The September 11 attacks were a date when universal values, human rights and law were shelved for the United States. Iraq was invaded, Afghanistan was plundered. September 12, 1980 was a date when human rights, law and justice were shelved in Turkey.”

“THE WAY TO PREVENT COUPS IS TAKING LESSONS”

Pointing out that the Islamic geography was dragged into disaster with the attacks on the Twin Towers, Tekir stated that the coup carried out on September 12, 1980 had similar results in Turkey. Tekir said, “On September 12, 1980, a lot of innocent people were hurt unfairly and unlawfully. They were held in prisons for months. Millions of people were 'blacklisted' by the rulers of that period. Hundreds of thousands of people were judged by the rulers of the time. Thousands of people had to leave their country. However, the way to prevent coups is to learn from the coups and the events that caused the coups. Don't repeat the mistakes made yesterday. So, can we learn from them? Sadly, 'no'! I wish we could have learnt from them.”

“NOT THE LAW OF POWER, THE POWER OF THE LAW MUST BE APPLIED”

Pointing out that the mistakes made in the past coups caused February 28 to be experienced, Tekir stated that the mistakes made on February 28 caused July 15, "In each coup period, tens of thousands of people were blacklisted with various excuses. Thousands were laid off and expelled. In the middle of the night their houses were raided and abused. Democracy, law, justice, human rights were shelved. Prisons are full. We want; Do not make the same mistakes today, and the same situations should not happen. Undoubtedly, all kinds of terrorist organizations and terrorist incidents should be addressed. Undoubtedly, measures should be taken against all kinds illegal structure of infiltrating the state. But the real criminals, not the innocent, should be punished. Real justice, not arbitrariness, should be based. The power of the law should be exercised, not the law of power," he added.

“TURKEY'S BIGGEST PROBLEM IS POLARIZATION”

Reminding that the polarization of people in the past paved the way for coups, Tekir mentioned that efforts are made to polarize people today and said, “It must be stated clearly that polarization is Turkey's biggest problem; The most important tool for this is the sharp language of politics. And the most important tool to prevent this polarization will again be the constructive, peaceful, conciliatory and resolute language of politics. A language that accuses, marginalizes, threatens, shouts and calls each other does not benefit anyone, nor does it contribute to social peace.”

“EVERYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN ONE NIGHT”

Tekir pointed out that the decisions taken regarding the country should be handled in a planned and programmed manner. Noting that the decisions taken today are unplanned and unscheduled, “Education and the economy cannot and should not be planned overnight with day-to-day decisions. This is exactly the problem of Turkey in every field, from education to economy; everything happens overnight! No thinking, no plans, no projects. Everything can happen or happens suddenly overnight. One night, the education model or the economy model suddenly changes. The minister of economy or education suddenly changes overnight. One night, the head of the Central Bank or the education curriculum changes suddenly. The education community may not even be aware of it. One night, we suddenly become friends with what we know as enemies, and enemies with what we know as friends. For example, with Israel, we suddenly become normal overnight in an abnormal way. But unfortunately, it is the nation that pays the bill for these sudden decisions, not those who make these decisions,” he added.

“THEY ARE DECEIVED, THEY DECEIVE, THE NATION PICKS UP THE BILL”

Pointing out that the basis of the steps taken by the government is his own power, Stating that the government continues to make mistakes, he said, “The government takes every step it takes at the moment when the election is approaching, not by thinking about the country, but by thinking about its own power, it prefers to take it. But in the end, they are wrong! The sad part is that; Unfortunately, they make this nation pay for everything they did wrong, not themselves! They are fooled, they are deceived, and of course, deceiving the nation comes next! Then they say 'we were deceived', and then they make a so-called apology. Without asking whether we accept their apologies or not, the decieving and deception processes continue. However, all these have painful bills, and those bills are paid by our people.”

“WHILE JUSTICE IS THE HEART OF EVERY BUSINESS, EDUCATION IS ESSENTIAL”

Making evaluations about the new academic year that started on Monday, Tekir pointed out that many of the problems in Turkey stem from the deficiencies in the fields of justice and education, “Justice is the beginning of everything, while education is essential. The apparatus we call the state already exists for security and justice. As the new academic year begins, the real 'survival' problem of our country reminds itself once again. Namely: Approximately 3 million 649 thousand of the children and youth between the ages of 15-24 in Turkey are neither studying nor working. This is a very important waste of human resources. When job seekers are included, a total of 4 million 87 thousand young people are trying to continue their lives outside of life. The number of children who leave their education life due to financial inadequacy is increasing day by day. Last year, more than 500 thousand students had to drop out of their education. The most painful and sad thing is that thousands of our educated people want to leave their country and establish their future in other countries due to inadequate and unsatisfactory working conditions. In other words, it is a forced brain drain,” he added.

“THE AGENDA IN EDUCATION TOTALLY CHANGED”

The problems experienced in the economy cause social inequalities as well as many other problems. Tekir pointed out that the government has triggered many problems and said, “A political party will be in power alone for 20 years in this country; and we will have teachers who cannot be appointed, overcrowded classes, thousands of children who cannot go to school, and the insufficient salaries of our educators will still be on the agenda of the country. What is worse and the thing we regret the most is this: 5-10 years ago, when education problems were mentioned, other issues would have been on the priority agenda. But today it has completely changed its nature. So, what topics are being discussed now? How did the priorities change? Stationery costs, lunch box, service fees, supplementary textbooks and in a chain way continues. In fact, this is Turkey's real 'survival' problem! Our children, who cannot look to the future with hope, cannot eat enough and cannot receive quality education, are the primary problems of this country.”

“WE WILL BUILD A REALISTIC SYSTEM IN EDUCATION THAT KEEPS THE FEET ON THE GROUND”

Emphasizing that the Saadet Party is determined to solve education problems, Tekir made statements about the steps to be taken in the field of education. “By bringing together all the building blocks of the education system, we will build a realistic and applicable system that is far from political populism. The education system is not according to the ideological understanding of the governments; We will reshape it according to values such as morality, justice, democracy, accountability. By saving the education system from the stress of exams; We are determined to transform it into a process-oriented system rather than a result-oriented one. We will spread quality education throughout the society by minimizing inequalities in education as much as possible. We will completely abolish exam fees from students and increase scholarship opportunities at all levels of education. We will create the system of a vocational guidance and direction that allows our children to be directed to professions suitable for their interests and abilities at an early age,” Tekir added.

“WE WILL ABOLISH DISCRIMINATIONS IN TEACHING AND WE WILL MAKE STAFF APPOINTMENTS”

Stating that they will take steps to solve the problems of students and teachers, Tekir noted that they will make new arrangements in every subject, especially in the curriculum, and said, “We will put an end to education and training practices such as transported education, dual education and education in combined classrooms. We will try to plan the curriculum not in the short term, but in the long term and in line with 21st century skills, namely the future. We will increase the preference of teaching programs by successful students by arranging the quotas of education faculties in line with the medium and long-term needs determined by the Ministry of National Education (MEB). We will employ all teachers on a permanent basis by eliminating all distinctions between teachers such as paid, permanent and contracted teachers. We will take into account the exam score in the recruitment of teachers, and we will put an end to arbitrary practices such as interviews. In honor of the teachers' profession to work in decent conditions; We will improve working conditions, personal, financial and social rights, in a way that befits the importance and dignity of education service. We will try to bring the personal, financial and social rights of our teachers working in private education institutions to the same level with those working in equivalent public education institutions according to their seniority.”
