Four people were shot dead Friday night at a mall in the Washington state, according to officials.
The shooter or shooters left the scene at Cascade Mall in Burlington before police arrived and are being sought, public information officer Sgt. Mark Francis tweeted.
Emergency medical services officials are entering the mall to tend to the injured, Francis said, without specifying the number of injuries.
He also gave a description of a shooter as "Hispanic male wearing grey", last seen walking from the scene of the shooting to a nearby interstate highway.
The state of Washington is unrelated to Washington DC, the U.S. seat of government, and is located at the northwestern extremity of the country.
