Four Turkish soldiers were martyred and four others injured on Wednesday in an attack by PKK terrorists in the southeastern province of Hakkari, the governor’s office said.
PKK terrorists detonated a roadside bomb as a military vehicle was passing by in the Yuksekova district’s Esendere region, said a statement from the governor's office.
The injured soldiers were rushed to Yuksekova State Hospital.
Anti-terror operations are ongoing in the region.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
