At least six suspects were arrested across Turkey on Sunday for suspected links with the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), according to security officials.
FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup attempt of July 15, 2016, which left 250 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.
Three suspects who were attempting to flee to Greece were arrested along with a Pakistani suspect accused of being a smuggler in northwestern Edirne province.
Two of the suspects were said to be former academics while the other was said to be a teacher.
In southern Adana province, three more people were arrested. Fake IDs, documents of the terrorist organization were also found during searches.
