Making an assessment on current issues, Democracy and Progress (DEVA) Party Chairman Ali Babacan said that 6 party leaders will meet for the third time on Sunday, March 27.
Babacan made various statements, especially the economy and the search for alliances, at the meeting with the journalists.
Babacan, who criticizes the economic policies of the government, said that even those who voted for the People's Alliance could no longer defend the government.
"Those who voted for the People's Alliance say 'save us'. It is very difficult to find arguments to support the government at the moment. People may still have hearts, but no one can come out and defend it. It is necessary to understand the AK Party voters well. People's fears and anxieties need to be addressed. Everything is not economics, you can't measure everything with money. I think it is not easy to present alternative success without understanding the emotional world of AK Party voters," Babacan said.
“THE NATURAL FLOW OF THE SIX-PARTY WORK IS IN THE DIRECTION OF THE ALLIANCE”
Explaining his party's approach to the electoral alliance, Babacan used the following statements:
"If the joint work of the six parties will continue with the vision of an alliance, which naturally flows in this direction, then the principles and values of the alliance to be established need to be studied and agreed upon."
“IT IS NOT ETHICAL TO REMEMBER ISSUES RELATING TO OTHER ALLIANCES”
"While we have taken part in such a process as an actor, while there is a presupposition that the result of the natural flow of this process of the six parties is towards the alliance, we think that it would be unethical to think about the issues related to other alliances and to talk about these issues with others. Alternative processes are unethical for us. We don't have backup alliance work," he added.
“GENERAL PRESIDENTS CAN SIT AT THE TABLE FOR THE ROADMAP OF THE TRANSITION PROCESS”
"We identified the issues on which the six parties will work together, especially the roadmap of the transition process. It can be considered that this will continue with bilateral contacts for a while, and if necessary, the establishment of a six-table table. This time, regarding the roadmap of the transition process, the final point can be made by sitting at the six-party table directly at the level of the chairmen. Because there are issues related to critical political decision there," Babacan said.
“AGRICULTURAL BUDGET IS THE DIFFERENCE OF 6 PERCENT TO THE EXCHANGE-GUARANTEED ACCOUNTS!”
"It has a foreign currency indexed deposit account of 520 billion. Every 1 percent increase in the exchange rate means that the state pays an additional 5 billion exchange rate difference. When it increases by 2 percent, there is an agricultural budget of 10 billion… 29 billion. The entire budget allocated to agriculture is equal to the difference to be given to currency-guaranteed deposit accounts with only a 6 percent increase in the exchange rate. The portion of the interest rate increase from 17 percent to 25 percent in the first year will come as an allowance. This year's budget broke down from the first months," Babacan added.
