Eight PKK terrorists have been killed Friday in an operation carried out in Turkey’s southeastern Hakkari province, according to the Turkish army.
In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said five terrorists were "neutralized" by armed drones near the Cukurca district of Hakkari province.
In addition, two terrorists were killed during an air operation and another by sniper fire in Cukurca.
Including the latest deaths, the total number of terrorists killed in operations across Hakkari since Aug. 30 amounts to 374, according to the military, 254 of which in Cukurca.
The province has seen broad anti-terror operations since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July last year.
Since then, PKK terrorist attacks have martyred more than 600 security personnel and also claimed the lives of many civilians, including women and children, while more than 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed in army operations.
