While 760 people participated in the research conducted by lawyers, 81 percent of the respondents were the victims of the decree laws and 19 percent were the relatives of the victims of the decree. 91 percent of those who have been asked important questions, do not believe that the current government will solve the problems arising from the decree laws. This situation reveals that in a possible election, the preferences of the victims of the decree laws will not be the AKP.
After the treacherous coup attempt on July 15, nearly 2 million citizens were investigated, while more than 200 thousand citizens were expelled from the public sector with the Statutory Decrees. Decree laws that were enacted one after the other right after the coup attempt also victimized tens of thousands of citizens. While the opposition parties have been working to eliminate these grievances recently, the lawyers have also revealed the grievances experienced through their work.
More than 5 years after the coup attempt, the lawyers who came together, Atty. Emre Murat, Atty. Kutluhan Soylu and Atty. Mesut Can Tarım conducted a comprehensive research on the victims of the Decree Law. In this research, questions were asked about which party the members of the Decree-Law voted for before, how their preferences have changed in the past, and which party can solve the KHK problem. The striking results of the research also revealed that the victims of the decree laws and their relatives will be significantly influential in the upcoming elections.
98 PERCENT TO VOTE FOR PARTIES EXCEPT THE AKP
In the research, which includes interesting details, only 1.8 of the participants who preferred the AKP in the general elections of November 1, 2015 said that they would vote for the AKP again, while 98.2 percent said that their preferences would be different. This situation reveals that the victims of the decree laws have given up hope from the government.
91 PERCENT DON'T BELIEVE THE AKP WILL SOLVE IT
On the other hand, the question asked in the research is “Do you believe that the current government can solve the problems arising from the Decree Law?” 91 percent of the participants stated that they did not believe the question. In addition, “Do you think the problems arising from the Decree Law can be resolved legally or politically?” While 83 percent of the participants answered the question of politics, 11 percent of them think that it will be resolved legally. When the answers given by the participants are evaluated, it is revealed that the KHK problem can only be solved politically, and it is revealed that the party that will solve it is not the AKP.
