Ebru Asiltürk, Chairman of the Women's Branch of the Felicity (Saadet) Party, "The decrease in our water resources is related to the unconsciousness and misuse of water consumption as well as to the natural events. Consciously saving water is a very important step to be taken for all living things," she said.
Regarding the issue of drought, which has been on the agenda lately, the Women's Branches of the Saadet Party launched a campaign called "A drop of savings".
Making a statement about the campaign, Ebru Asiltürk, Chairman of the Women's Branch of the Felicity (Saadet) Party, said, "Water is life, the main source of life and indispensable for all living things. A future without water is unthinkable. The shortage of water reserves is an important issue that will declare a state of emergency for all humanity."
WE CAN SAVE THOUSANDS OF TONS OF WATER WITH THE SAVING ON OUR HOME
Underlining that they invite all authorized institutions, NGOs and citizens to use water consciously under the name of "A drop of savings", Asiltürk said, "The conscious use we will make in our home, in our work, in our institutions, in our agricultural lands will mean gaining tons of water. With the measures we take individually in our homes, we can regain water significantly. Turning off the water just while washing our hands and brushing our teeth saves 48 tons of water a year. What does 48 tons of water mean? 1 ton of water corresponds to 1 cubic meter of water and 1 cubic meter of water corresponds to a thousand liters of water. "26 percent of our daily water use consists of toilets, 22 percent from washing machines, 17 percent from showers, 16 percent from faucets, 5 percent from other uses and 14 percent from internal plumbing leaks."
WHAT CAN WE GAIN WITH ONE STEP?
Asiltürk demanded that every citizen who supports “A drop of savings” calls to make comparisons on their monthly bills and share them with the Women's Branch in order to reflect their contributions, stated that they aim to see what can be done and what can be gained with a saving step.
Inviting all citizens to support the campaign, Asiltürk said, “We can save our future by working hand in hand and acting consciously. You, too, take a step to save money.”
