Sert also requested the revision of the Public Framework Protocol, which is based on the salary arrangement of 1 million permanent employees in the public sector after the minimum wage hike.
The explanations regarding the minimum wage determined in the past days continue to come.
An explanation regarding the wage came from the Chairman of the Öz Sağlık-İş Union, which works under the Hak-İş Confederation, Devlet Sert.
Sert noted that it is necessary to fix the income tax at 10 percent after the determined minimum wage. Öz Sağlık-İş Union Chairman Devlet Sert, who started his speech by stating that the increase in the minimum wage figure accepted for 2023 is important, said that the announced figure was determined in parallel with the latest inflation rates.
Reminding that the minimum wage was announced as 8,506 lira net and 10,008 lira gross, Sert said, "While determining the minimum wage, employees and their families need to be considered. We are facing an inflation resulting from the pandemic and global economic crises. All segments of society feel the cost of food. Against these, in order to protect all of their fixed incomes, it is necessary to take into account the increase in the minimum wage in both new wage increases and collective bargaining agreements, and additional measures should be implemented. Thus, the losses produced by inflation will be compensated."
"IMPROVEMENTS MUST BE MADE IN THE PUBLIC FRAMEWORK AND COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS"
Speaking about the words of the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Bilgin, in a broadcast he attended, Sert emphasized that it is their natural right to demand additional measures to protect their working members in inflation, economic and global crises, as a requirement of the understanding of unionism.
In continuation of his harsh words, "From this point of view, we hope that the minimum wage increase and improvements will be taken into account both in the collective agreements we have made and in the Public Framework Protocol to be made. We also benefit from knowing this. As Hak-İş Confederation is not a party to the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, as we have expressed and found to be wrong. We have always stated that we find this lacking in the representation of the labor world," he added.
