Ali Ihsan Mujahid, one of the leaders of Jamaat-i Islami, who was executed as a result of an unlawful trial by the government of Sheikh Hasina Wazed in Bangladesh, one of the largest Islamic countries in the Asian continent, was commemorated with mercy and prayers on the 7th anniversary of his martyrdom.

Ali Ihsan Mujahid, who martyred in November 2015, was one of the five leaders of the Jamaat-e-Islami in Bangladesh between 2013 and 2016.

Mullah Abdulqadir, Kamaruzzaman, Ali Ihsan Mujahid, Mir Qasım Hossein and Motiurrahman Nizami, who were the leading figures of the movement, were executed during the ongoing political trial process by the Bangladesh government to destroy the Jamaat-e-Islami Movement.

“HE WAS A RESPECTED LEADER OF THE ISLAMIC MOVEMENT”

General Emir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman recalled the contributions of Ali Ihsan Mujahid, former Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Minister of Social Welfare, to Bangladeshi society and the Islamic struggle.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, "Our martyr, Ali Ihsan Muhammed Mujahid, was a respected leader of the Islamic movement. His great contributions to peace, welfare, rule of law, justice, human rights, people's right to vote and the establishment of a welfare state based on justice in Bangladesh will cause him to be remembered for centuries. He served very successfully as the social welfare minister in the four-party coalition government in 2001-2006. During his tenure as Minister, he performed his ministry duties in line with the principles of integrity, efficiency and transparency, and set a precedent for all governments," he said.

“JUSTICE CANNOT BE EXPECTED FROM THE JUDGMENT OF A BROKEN ORDER”

Shafiqur Rahman reminded that Sheikh Hasina's government started a conspiracy through the judiciary to overthrow the Jamaat-e-Islami, which it could not deal with politically.

"A conspiracy case was brought against Ali İhsan Mujahid for crimes against humanity, and he was sentenced to death. It should be known that justice cannot be expected from the judgment of a corrupt political order. Only time will tell the fact that top leaders of the community, including Mr. Mujahid, were hanged just to achieve political goals. May Allah accept the martyrdom of Ali Ihsan Muhammad Mujahid and grant him high positions in heaven," he added.
