Hak-İş Confederation President Mahmut Arslan made important evaluations about the developments in the economy, especially working life. Arslan stated that the severance compensation legislation should be ameliorated and added; "We need to establish a scheme in which all workers will receive severance pay. This model should bring forward the rights we have gained in a sustainable way, not backwards. We cannot defend the current order because thousands of people are deprived of their severance pay."
Speaking to our newspaper, Arslan stated that they are satisfied with the seniority system of the big companies; "There are also those who do not want to give severance pay. They don't want to give in small businesses. There are collective bargaining agreements in the collective bargaining agreement. If we put all this together, we don't know how reconciliation will be. We do not want to talk about the issue of severance pay in a narrow frame. European countries have severance pay in many countries. Considering many options, the severance pay has to be made in mind. We want to make moves to end the difficulties in the severance pay."
Indicating that there are problems in the banking system, Arslan said that there were serious pressures on lending.
