It is stated that the colonial or fascist past of these countries is effective in the open support of the USA, France, England, Germany and Italy for the attacks of terrorist Israel targeting civilians in Gaza.
Tunisian political analyst and General Manager of The International Interest, Sami Hamdi, evaluated terrorist Israel's violations of international law in Gaza and the approach of Western states.
Hamdi pointed out that the USA, France, England, Germany and Italy openly support Israel despite its violations of human rights and international law, and continued as follows:
"These states are the USA, England, France, Italy and Germany. Three of these states (USA, UK and France) are the legacy of the most brutal colonial empires of the last century. The other two (Italy and Germany) have the worst history of fascism in the last century. Here we see a kind of muscle memory or resonance with colonialism. That's why they stand unwaveringly on the side of the Israelis."
Stating that the support given to Israel by the 5 major Western powers is a reflection of racism against Muslims and hostility towards Islam, Hamdi said that the West has revealed a complete double standard in the Palestine-Israel tension.
HYPOCRITE AND DOUBLE STANDARD STANCE
Hamdi pointed out that although European Union (EU) Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was very clear in condemning Russia's war crimes in Ukraine, she did not show the same reaction to the crimes committed against Palestinians.
He said that Western organizations' silence on war crimes against Palestinians is not a new situation.
Hamdi emphasized that solidarity demonstrations with the Palestinian people are suppressed in Western countries.
"England considering banning the Palestinian flag, France trying to ban pro-Palestinian protests, or police trying to prevent pro-Palestinian protests in Rome. These bans are against all the values preached by Europe and international law," Hamdi added.
