Making evaluations during the visit, Uslu said that steps should be taken regarding the contracted personnel, which has become the biggest problem of local administrations, and the promised staff.

Milli Gazete Ankara Representative and TV5 Editor-in-Chief Mustafa Yılmaz visited Bem-Bir-Sen Chairman Levent Uslu with his colleagues. Drawing attention to the problems of local government personnel during the visit, Uslu said that new steps should be taken and the problems should be solved.

Underlining that a staff should be recruited as soon as possible in order to overcome the difficulties of contracted personnel, Uslu said, "The most difficult, most critical and most urgent issue is our brothers working as contracted personnel. We have many problems in local governments, but the most crisis situation is the contracted one. "We have done all the struggle in the field, at the table, in the media, in the trials, in opening an investigation, we continue to do so and we will continue."

CALLING TO MUNICIPALITIES "NO DISCRIMINATION"

Stating that nearly 400 thousand contracted personnel are under local governments, he said, "Contracts of contractors working in ministries are in a way automatically renewed. But in local governments, the fate of the staff is on the initiative of the mayor, the municipal government. Employment contracts are terminated with a simple sentence that says "You are no longer needed". Currently, employment termination letters have started to come to our colleagues. Regardless of their political view or union, they are all children of this country. Those who manage the municipalities should not separate these homeland children."

THEY WORK 24/7 DURING THE OUTBREAK PERIOD

Uslu pointed out that the personnel working in local administrations during the epidemic process were completely working on the front line and said, "Local government personnel are also fighting on the front line during the epidemic. There are some of our police brothers who died. We have brothers and sisters who died after working in the directorate of social, health and cemeteries. They are also in the very risky group. I call the authorities to take office in order to eliminate the grievances of the staff. People with chronic diseases and those working in risky areas started to be employed 24/7. The rights of self-sacrificing local government personnel should also be acknowledged".
