The days of the Eid al-Adha are still experiencing activity in the markets, including victim sales areas.
It is expected that 20-24 billion lira will enter the market with Eid al-Adha in the days when economic problems cannot be solved.
We talked with Selman Esmerer, President of a New World Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (YENİAD) about the importance of Eid al-Adha and its implications for the economy.
"AN EFFICIENT PERIOD FOR ANIMAL FOOD"
YENİAD Chairman Selman Esmerer said in his statement regarding the contribution of the Eid al-Adha to the economy, "Along with the Eid al-Adha, there are also movements in the economy. It is a fertile period especially for animal breeders. According to the meat prices in the butcher, the one-time cut in the year is in favor of the feeder. Of course, our fattening citizens make great efforts. Shipping, tents, 15-day sales period, such as a great effort is spent. The victim has both moral and material aspects. Especially our brothers who cannot eat meat and who have no condition also have meat. There is a bridge between the poor and the rich. This beauty is experienced as a holiday."
"WE MUST LEAVE TASTE OF HOLIDAY, WE NEED TO PRODUCE"
Esmerer touched on the holidays, "Our holidays are important and beautiful days for us. During the holidays, we visit our family elders, relatives, and have joyful times. But the holiday should not see a holiday vehicle. The extension of the holidays in recent years comes to the agenda. We are not in favor of this. National holidays, employees have annual leave. And when such permits are issued, there is a serious lack of production. We have to leave the holidays to taste. Turkey needs the production, needs work," he said.
Reiterating the importance of production Esmer, "Farmers and fatters cannot afford their labor, which affects production in agriculture and animal husbandry. We have very important lands, but can not evaluate. Our country, which is not self-sufficient in agriculture and animal husbandry, has to turn to imports. There was a fury of angus during the past sacrifice feasts. The domestic animal was not supported and angus was brought. These are not the right policies. We need to raise enough animals to slaughter our own victims and meet the meat needs of butchers. These are only possible through good policies," he added.
