Blindly defending the Hindutva ideology, which advocates the supremacy of the Hindus, the Modi government virtually turns a blind eye to crimes against Muslims in many parts of the country.
Criticizing the Hindu brutality that threatens the existence of 200 million Muslims in India, the Indian Jamaat-e-Islami officials called on the people of India to react against those who want to fuel social hatred.
Indian Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Malik Motasim Khan, in a statement criticizing the Modi government, "Unfortunately, instead of talking about performance and development plans that will bring comfort to the people of India, attempts are being made to polarize communities and escalate hostility across religious lines. There is an increasing trend in separatist activities carried out by malicious people and anti-social elements to disturb the social peace and atmosphere. It is quite disturbing that the government does not care about the attempts of hate mongers, unfortunately the authorities are showing a soft attitude towards these hate mongers," he said.
“WE ARE IN SOLIDARITY WITH OUR GIRL STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES”
Commenting on the headscarf ban crisis in India, one of the officials of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Ms. Rahmathunnisa, "We are following with concern the reports that some schools in the state of Karnataka do not allow our Muslim girls to wear hijabs. We express our solidarity with the schoolgirls and their families who peacefully protest this injustice. School administrations must protect the fundamental rights of students to manifest and practice their religion. School authorities should immediately allow girls to attend school and not bow to those who seek to create division and hatred in society," she said.
“INDIANS SHOULD REACT TO HATE MONGERS”
Malik Motasim Khan, calling on the people of India to react against the hate mongers, "We call on Indians to support those who advocate values-based politics, uphold constitutional values, respect social norms, strive for justice and fraternity, social harmony and tolerance. We also advise voters to rise above religious and caste concerns, look at the moral character of the candidate, and vote in a way that ensures that parties that fuel hatred and do not have an overarching vision towards the nation are defeated at the ballot box," he said.
