After the local elections, the winning parties changed after a long time in many municipalities. After the elections, 1012 contracted civil servants and nearly 20,000 workers in many municipalities were terminated without justification, while the employment contracts of 25 workers in Kırşehir Municipality were terminated most recently.
While calling for an end to the grievances in the action carried out in front of Kırşehir Municipality by "Memur-Sen" regarding the incident, "Bem-Bir-Sen" executives, especially Memur-Sen Chairman Ali Yalçın, Bem-Bir-Sen Chairman Levent Uslu, were present. A press release was held with the participation of civil servants and their families.
“25 FAMILIES ENTER 2022 WITHOUT JOB”
Yalçın emphasized that the persecution of dismissal in Kırşehir Municipality since the local elections does not comply with any municipal approach.
"In the last 2 weeks, the contracts of 25 people from 5393 have been terminated. There is sadness, anger and anxiety in 25 homes in Kırşehir. Unfortunately, 25 families in Kırşehir enter 2022 without bread. Kırşehir Municipality has witnessed many contract renewals and terminations so far. People were starved. Those who returned with the court were dismissed again. One of our working brothers committed suicide in Kırşehir. I'm asking the mayor. Why are you firing these civil servants? What are the crimes of these workers? What greater cruelty can there be than to take away one's bread, what greater theft than to steal one's labor? There is no justification, just a cruel, brutal, unlawful attitude. But there is a great silence in the face of this cruelty, theft and injustice," he said.
“DISMISSALS SHOULD BE STOPPED”
Speaking at the action, "Bem-Bir-Sen" Chairman Levent Uslu reminded that many workers committed suicide due to dismissals and underlined that the dismissals should be stopped.
"We are here to put the promises and cruelties of those who have been playing with their bread together with the workers who have tried every way to put the laborer in front of the door since he took office and returned to their jobs with a court decision despite the termination of their employment contract many times. Since March 31, hundreds of contracted personnel in many municipalities have been terminated and their jobs have been terminated," he said.
