Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy and Head of Youth Branch Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the debts of farmers to public banks to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). Karaduman submitted a proposal to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly on the ‘Erasing the Interests of the Farmers' Debt to Public Banks and Public Institutions and Organizations and the Restructuring of their Debts’.

In the general justification of the bill, it was stated that the government has been carrying out an agricultural policy understanding towards imports and consumption in recent years. In the proposal, which is stated that Turkey has become a foreign-dependent country, it was also noted that the number of people engaged in agriculture is rapidly decreasing, the area of cultivation decreased. When the last 10 years are examined, it is underlined that the share of agriculture in Gross Domestic Product (GSYH) decreases every year, and it is emphasized that the most important problem of the farmer is debt.

In the proposal, it was pointed out that agricultural incentives and supports should be given fully and completely at the point of alleviating the debt burden of the farmers.
